Debi called and found out that this is not a big undertaking and should be no problem. What is the cost of the project? Jeanette Wenzel had an estimate after the second frost maybe $400-$500 and they will take care of the costs.

Frank moved to adjourn.

Meeting adjourned at 7:50.

After the Meeting:

Investigator Nelson from Wright County Sheriff's Office spoke. He handed out neighborhood watch program material.

The literature exlained the program:

Call Wright County and get your number for operation ID. Put it on everything. If you move update your address with the police department. If you sell the merchandise keep a record of it. On the operation ID put all things you have considered valuable. Protect yourself before someone gets in. Have a lock with a key on both sides.

How many robbers in the immediate area? Not very many in this area in the past 6 months.

If anyone is going on vacation, tell your neighbors. Also feel free to tell the police and ask them to watch your house. How often will the patrols occur? Should be every night. How is the nine 911 working in Wright County? Answer's okay.

When calling 911 stay on the line and give them the information including directions to your house and the immediate problem. You should update our location and give it to the Sheriff's department. We have done that. The new street numbers will help the police department. The people on the lake should be their own “watch dogs” and report to 911. We went over part of the handout on describing the suspect. The more information you give the police the better it will be. License numbers are good if you can. If you can't get the number get the car color. Give all information.

Also if you take a check from someone ask them for an ID, preferably a picture ID.

We can order signs and we will put them up. The system does work. Debi said let's all go home and read the info and decide where we want to place the signs.
